About Marta

I believe that none of us are meant to navigate life alone. At different points in our lives, we may need support, space, and the right tools to help us move forward. I aim to provide a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.

My approach is person-centred and informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory. I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as we make sense of your experiences, explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and approach the different parts of yourself with curiosity and compassion. Together, we can develop practical tools and work toward meaningful, achievable change at a pace that feels right for you.

I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences and am committed to creating a culturally sensitive, inclusive, and affirming therapeutic space. I support individuals navigating parenting, identity, relationships, life transitions, and other challenges, and strive to provide a space where immigrants, LGBTQ2+ individuals, people living with disabilities, and members of all communities feel respected and supported.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Human Ecology), Honours Specialization in Family Studies and Human Development, with a minor in Psychology from Western University. I am currently completing my clinical practicum toward a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. My academic background has shaped my understanding of how relationships, development, family systems, and life transitions can influence the ways we think, feel, relate to others, and understand ourselves.

Alongside my academic training, I bring experience supporting individuals and families in community, residential, and crisis-informed settings. I have worked with families navigating medical stress, individuals experiencing distress, and youth and adults with developmental disabilities in one-to-one support roles. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for the many ways people cope, adapt, and demonstrate resilience through difficult circumstances.

As part of Oakwell’s Emerging Clinician Program, I practice within the scope of my training and receive ongoing clinical supervision from experienced Oakwell clinicians. This supervision supports the delivery of ethical, thoughtful, and client-centred care and helps ensure that clients whose needs fall outside my current scope are connected with appropriate supports.

Life doesn’t come with a manual, and sometimes we find ourselves trying to figure things out on our own. Therapy can offer a place to slow down, better understand what has been weighing on you, reconnect with your strengths, and explore new ways of moving forward.
