Emerging Clinician Program
Program Overview
Oakwell is proud to support the next generation of mental health professionals. As approved clinical supervisors, our therapists guide highly qualified graduate students in completing their clinical practicum as part of their journey to providing exceptional and ethical psychotherapy services to our community.
To ensure that our qualifying psychotherapist receives a rich and well-supported training experience and that our clients continue to receive high-quality, ethical care—we currently accept only one student into the program at a time. This intentional approach allows us to provide meaningful, individualized mentorship to the student, including regular supervision and hands-on guidance from both CRPO and university-approved clinical supervisors, as well as Oakwell’s leadership team.
At the same time, this structure ensures that client needs remain the top priority. With consistent oversight and collaboration, we’re able to offer a deeply supportive environment where the student can grow and learn—without compromising the care, attention, and professionalism our clients deserve.
Client Centred, Supervised Care

Services are provided by a graduate-level student completing their practicum in Counselling Psychology.

The student receives ongoing clinical supervision from two CRPO and university-approved clinical supervisors, as well as mentorship from the entire Oakwell clinical team.

Therapy is offered at a reduced rate, helping to reduce financial barriers.
